Salon Culinaire at IFEX is Irelands largest and most prestigious chef competition programme and will incorporate over 80 classes over the course of four days. There are four categories of competition that will showcase the impressive skills and talent within the industry. 

Salon Culinaire is hotly anticipated as the place where the ‘best of’ culinarians in Northern Ireland are formally acknowledged – including Michael Deane, Chris Bell and Roisin Gavin – who were first recognised on the IFEX stage.

Chef Skills are high on the agenda and the Salon Culinaire which raises the bar in terms of culinary skills in Northern Ireland includes La Parade des Chefs, the ChefSkills Theatre and Edible Art (cold display). 

The deadline for entries was 8th February 2016

La Parade des Chefs

kitchenThe heat is on to serve 60 diners in a staggered restaurant service over a two hour service period, delivering exceptional, consistent food under pressure. A team of chefs have to deliver a 3 course menu to show judges, diners and industry peers an example of realistic restaurant service.

The ChefSkills Theatre

plateChefSkills will host an exciting series of back-to-back live hot classes each day in 6 adjacent state-of-the-art workstations. There will be a variety of junior, senior and open classes available to enter. We would encourage all chefs, junior & senior, based in education and industry to enter a ChefSkills class. Please see below for more details. There is limited availability so we recommend that you apply early.

Cold Display/Edible Art

edible artCold Display will incorporate a range of static classes that will showcase the skills and talents of the industry. The stunning exhibits will create an area that truly can be described as “an edible art gallery”.
